Our Dalton, GA plant is focused on operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

We’re hiring a Process Engineer to bridge project launch and serial production for hot forming, laser, and welding lines in Dalton. You’ll coordinate cross-functional activities before SOP, stand up robust documentation and processes, track project milestones, and drive improvement through data, time studies, and KPI management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong automotive experience and the ability to lead change across teams and shifts.

Responsibilities:

Launch & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate between the project team and start-up production for tooling and production readiness in Dalton.
  • Drive interaction between Production, Logistics, and QA before SOP to ensure on-time deliveries and internal quality loop closure.
  • Track all project-related activities through LOP and PTT; communicate status, deadlines, and milestones to customers

Process Design, Documentation & Setup

  • Create production documents (e.g., work-step cards, standard operating sheets) for Hot Forming, Laser, and Welding.
  • Support development of setup plans for Hot Forming.
  • Finalize PCB frame coordination between Logistics Planning in Germany and Production in Dalton.
  • Support and conduct time studies for pre-trial phases

Analysis, Improvement & KPI Management

  • Support analysis of production and dimensional results for Dalton and recent runs in Germany.
  • Perform profitability calculations, make-or-buy analyses, and present results to the GEDIA Group.
  • Calculate and drive improvement and rationalization measures.
  • Maintain, develop, and analyze production-related KPIs in your area.

Knowledge Transfer, Commissioning & Audits

  • Act as a key link for knowledge transfer between specialist departments in Germany and Dalton (including Temperbox know-how).
  • Participate in commissioning of all new lines.
  • Participate in layout planning and project planning for machines, systems, and building layout.
  • Support customer audits and 5S implementation


Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Completed training as an Engineer or Industrial/Mechanical Engineer, or comparable training with 1-3 years of professional experience in automotive production.
  • In-depth experience in production environments—hot forming, laser, and welding within the automotive industry.
  • Experience managing projects across multiple hierarchical levels and within supplier/OEM environments.

Technical Skills

  • Capable of time studies, profitability calculations, and make-or-buy analysis.
  • Familiar with layout planning, equipment/machine project planning, and commissioning of new lines.
  • Comfortable maintaining and analyzing KPIs; strong process orientation and continuous improvement mindset.
  • MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Other Requirements

  • Languages: English required; German advantageous.
  • Willingness to support multiple shifts and during emergencies.
  • Ability to travel periodically for workshops within the GEDIA organization.
