GEDIA Georgia is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians to join our Laser Department on 2nd and 3rd shift. If you are a detail‑oriented technician with strong troubleshooting skills and experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you!
Position Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Trumpf laser production equipment according to established instructions and safety guidelines. You will complete work orders, perform preventive maintenance (PM), identify issues, and ensure timely corrective actions. This position requires strong communication, a commitment to “repairing it right the first time,” and attention to cleanliness as a core part of maintenance excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on laser machinery and related equipment.
- Read, interpret, and execute work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and systems-related issues.
- Escalate issues by writing work orders when additional support is needed.
- Ensure all repairs are completed accurately to prevent repeat breakdowns.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and contribute to an organized work environment.
- Communicate clearly with team members across all organizational levels.
- Assist in identifying and eliminating sources of downtime through root‑cause analysis, including 5 Why methodology.
- Operate hand tools, grease guns, forklifts, cranes, and laser‑related equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Formal training leading to journeyman status in machine repair, industrial mechanics, or as an electrician, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience maintaining and repairing production equipment, including laser systems (Trumpf experience preferred) and assembly equipment in a high‑volume environment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience with laser machine assembly and related processes.
- Knowledge of ISO/TS certifications is a plus.
- Experience with Fanuc Robots, CMM, and TruTops Cell Programming is an advantage.
- Strong computer and math skills required.
- Commitment to reducing downtime through proactive problem solving.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment.
- Requires frequent visual focus and sustained attention.
- Ability to move throughout the plant, including upper‑level areas.
- Must be able to distinguish colors for repair tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
