Position Overview

The Quality Manager leads all Quality Assurance, laboratory, audit, and customer-facing quality activities for the GEDIA Georgia facility. This role ensures compliance with automotive standards, drives continuous improvement, oversees the local Quality Management System (N5), and leads a high‑performing team across Quality Engineering, testing labs, and measurement systems. The Quality Manager is a key partner to production, program management, and customers—ensuring robust processes, reliable measurement systems, and strong quality performance from launch through serial production.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Leadership

  • Oversee all functional areas of the Quality Department, including:
    • Quality Engineering
    • CMM laboratory
    • Destructive testing laboratory
    • Weld analysis lab
    • GP12 and containment activities
    • Inspection fixtures and measurement device storage
    • Calibration and certification systems
    • Product hold and quarantine areas
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the GEDIA Quality Management System (N5) at the local level.
  • Manage departmental resources, including staffing, budgeting, and investment planning.
  • Ensure customer-specific and industry standards are fully integrated and consistently practiced.

Customer, Supplier & Program Support

  • Review and support customer drawings, specifications, tooling concepts, fixture designs, and APQP documentation.
  • Ensure quality-related customer program deliverables are completed on time and to standard.
  • Serve as a primary interface with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues and manage data in internal/external tracking systems (e.g., B2B portals).
  • Coordinate external service providers for measurement, material analysis, and containment activities.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and review corrective action plans for both internal and external issues.
  • Guide teams in structured problem-solving methodologies and root cause analysis.
  • Lead or support improvements to production and administrative processes.
  • Maintain the Competency Matrix and training plan for all Quality personnel.
  • Utilize SAP and IDOS daily to support quality operations, documentation, and reporting.

Audit & Compliance Management

  • Organize and execute system, product, and process audits for GEDIA Georgia.
  • Maintain the plant audit schedule and ensure readiness for internal, customer, and certification audits.
  • Support the plant in successful execution of all audit activities.
  • Coordinate corrective action completion and follow-up tasks.
  • Work with GEDIA Group to plan and manage external certification audits.

Requirements

  • Certified Auditor for ISO 9001 / IATF 16949, VDA, CQI‑15 (preferred)
  • Solid experience leading quality teams and managing departmental resources
  • Strong automotive manufacturing background; BIW and heavy stamping experience preferred
  • Proficiency with APQP, customer-specific requirements, and GEDIA’s N5 system
  • Hands-on experience with destructive testing, CMM, weld analysis, and calibration (required)
  • Experience with SAP and IDOS (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coach, train, and develop teams
  • Effective working relationships with cross‑functional teams, customers, and suppliers
